Jan Senbergs & Chris Wallace-Crabbe, 'Those Imagined Cities: Timbuktu', Plate Lithograph

Their collaborative project Those Imagined Cities, took as it's premise six global cities which the artists have never, and will probably never visit. These cities are imagined in images by Jan Senbergs and poems by Chris Wallace-Crabbe and are brought together in a beautiful limited edition Portfolio of six original fine art lithographs.

Jan Senbergs’ unwavering individual vision and signature style have secured his place as one of Australia’s most respected Artists. This collaborative project followed on from Jan’s exceptional retrospective held at the National Gallery of Victoria in 2016. He has had a long association of printmaking with Australian Print Workshop.

Chris Wallace-Crabbe is one of Australia’s most eminent writers. He is an award-winning poet and emeritus professor with an extensive repertoire of published work. This partnership has seen Chris produce six new poems, Kandy, Odessa, Oran, Reykjavik, Santo Domingo and Timbuktu.

ABC Radio National's Books & Arts program interviewed Jan and Chris about the process of collaboration, their relationships with the cities depicted and the process of research and collaboration. The feature aired on the 26 September 2016. You can listen to the interview here, or below.
